The Lehigh County coroner’s office said a motorist was pronounced dead at the scene of a fiery crash Monday in Lower Milford Township.
The 38-year-old township man’s car went off the road around 5:20 a.m. near Kings Highway and Janes Lane and caught fire after hitting a tree, the office said in a news release.
The man has tentatively been identified but his name won’t be released until his identity is confirmed and his family notified. That process may take several days because of the severity of the fire, the release said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
In addition to the coroner’s office, state police at Fogelsville are investigating.
