Here we go again. Mystery drones that prompted a wave of sightings Thursday night across the СŷƵ were back for a second night Friday.

Shortly after dark, the reports started coming in from around the region, though the sightings did not initially seem as widespread as those a night earlier. Many of Friday night’s sightings appeared to be concentrated around the greater Bethlehem and Allentown areas, according to social media posts.

Jenelle Romig shared a video in the of what appeared to be one of the drones that she saw near the border of Bethlehem and Palmer townships around 7 p.m.

Another person in the group said she counted six drones near Saucon Park in Bethlehem, with one flying low enough for her to get a good view of it. Yet another person said she saw one over Hanover Elementary School in Hanover Township, Northampton County.

Cory Manning shared with СŷƵ video he took around 7:30 p.m. of a cluster of what appeared to be drones over Coopersburg. Other sightings were reported near the Northampton area.

County 911 dispatchers in the СŷƵ were also fielding a few reports of sightings throughout the evening. Monroe County emergency officials, who Thursday night had asked residents there to report drone sightings to county 911, were instead .

Beyond the СŷƵ, there was no new information about the sightings from federal authorities Friday, prompting New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy to tell President Joe Biden that residents there need answers. The mystery drones started appearing there nearly a month ago, and have plagued the skies all over the state in the last week or two.

President-elect Donald Trump also weighed in on the growing frenzy. Some of the drones sightings have occurred near his Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey, less than an hour’s drive from most of the СŷƵ.

In a post on his Truth Social site, Trump said he believes the government knows more than it’s saying and offered his preferred course of action with dealing with the drones.

“Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!” he posted on his social media site.

In New York City, which also saw a wave of sightings Thursday evening, Mayor Eric Adams says the city is investigating in conjunction with New Jersey and federal officials.

With little insight from authorities on the nature of the phenomenon, one СŷƵ drone expert Friday weighed in on the sightings.

Bill Gregory, president of the СŷƵ Radio Control Society, told СŷƵ that while he was not sure what was causing the activity, the drones prompting some of the sightings are much larger — and far more expensive —  than ones that ordinary consumers would tend to operate.

“These aren’t ones you’re getting off Amazon,” he said.

The FBI and Homeland Security continue to investigate the sightings.

What to do if you see or encounter a drone

Anyone who wants to report a sighting or has information about the drones may call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit tips online at .

If you encounter a drone, do not attempt to take matters into your own hands. Federal law makes it illegal to shoot at any aircraft, which includes drones, according to the FAA.
