
Weatherly Borough Council accepted the resignation of Mayor Paul J. Hadzick on Monday evening.
According to a post on the , prior to the mayor’s resignation borough council became aware of sexual harassment allegations made by four borough employees.
The borough hired an independent law firm to conduct an investigation.
The results of that investigation were presented to borough council in an executive session on Monday which led to Hadzick tendering his resignation.
According to the post, Hadzick posted about the investigation on his personal Facebook page and the borough does not condone his statements.
The borough said there have been no allegations of sexual abuse and the identities of the four complainants were not released during the executive session.
Weatherly Borough Council says the results of the investigation are confidential and the council condemns all forms of harassment, including sexual harassment and further condemns and threats of retaliation on claims of harassment.
The borough hopes to fill the mayoral vacancy at the next borough council meeting on May 27.
A former district magistrate, Hadzick was elected mayor in 2019 and won a second term in 2023. He served as supervisor of Eurana Park, treasurer and chief of the Weatherly Citizens Fire Co. and was a Weatherly school board member and councilman.
