A Carbon County woman was hit by two vehicles Thursday night in Lehigh County, according to authorities.
Salisbury Township police said in a news release the woman, 22, of Summit Hill, was crossing the road in the 500 block of East Emmaus Avenue about 10:20 p.m. when she was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound.
The impact caused her to be thrown into the eastbound lane, where she was hit by another vehicle, according to the release. She was pinned beneath the second vehicle, and firefighters from Eastern Salisbury Fire Department had to remove her, police said.
She was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Fountain Hill for treatment of her injuries, the extent of which was unknown Friday.
The drivers of both of the vehicles stayed at the scene and are cooperating. That portion of the road was closed for about three hours while police investigated, according to the release.
Salisbury police, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and the Lehigh County Accident Reconstruction team are investigating the crash.
