The Pocono Interchange (exit 95) on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension will be closed early Sunday morning to allow the removal of the overhead toll gantry as part of a tollbooth demolition project.

The closure will be from midnight to 5 a.m. Sunday.

During the closure, drivers should travel to the next exit and find an alternate route. Access to Interstate 476 will be from either the Wilkes-Barre interchange (exit 105) or Route 903 (exit 87).

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said the construction is part of the implementation of its open road tolling system.

State police and turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers.
