UPDATED:

If burgers with bacon and cheese weren’t enough, diners can enjoy burgers stuffed with bacon and cheese at the food truck that has found a new permanent spot to cook in Bethlehem.

“That’s what makes us different,” owner Abraham Nomie said.

The Burger Shack Food Truck held a grand opening Saturday for its new home in the parking lot of Country Club Brewing, 323 Pierce St. in Bethlehem. Customers can buy the signature stuff burgers as well as loaded fries, wraps and chicken sandwiches.

Before opening the food truck in spring 2024 and operating throughout the region, now-23-year-old Nomie worked on and off for The Burger Shack restaurant in Whitehall Township that his mother Sanaat Nomie and aunt Marlyn Yacoub own.

“I kind of just grew up in the environment and then I was working there for a long time and I kind of wanted to just start something to branch off,” Nomie said. “That’s why I started the food truck, to extend the business [and] get the name out there more.”

He later added, “A food truck is like a driving advertisement. Everywhere I used to go, I would just tell people about our restaurant. And then I got really familiar with the Bethlehem spots, and I kind of always imagined it would be nice to have it in one spot. That way, I can have consistent customers and do more deals and stuff to help out the community [through raising money].”

The truck will operate on Pierce Street noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, with Nomie hoping to eventually extend the weekend hours to after midnight and get another food truck. It also offers online ordering and delivery through DoorDash.

He’ll primarily focus on the permanent location rather than events but will be at big events such as this year’s Musikfest.
