An Allentown man allegedly stabbed a woman in the city, then was captured after an automobile accident in  Whitehall Township.

Javier Quinones, 41, is charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned Friday before District Judge Rashid Santiago, who sent him to Lehigh County Jail under $100,000 bail.

Officers responded about 11:30 a.m. Friday for a report of a stabbing in a home in the 600 block of North Jerome Street, Allentown police said in a news release. A female was stabbed in the right foot, but her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

Quinones fled the home, police said, but he was apprehended a short time later after being involved in an automobile accident in Whitehall.

Court records show Quinones is being represented by the Lehigh County public defender’s office.
