Whitehall football player Talon Dogmanits and Bethlehem Catholic girls volleyball player Sophia Bedics are our Athlete of the Week winners for Week 5 of the 2025-26 season.

Talon Dogmanits, Whitehall football

The wide receiver caught eight passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner, in a 56-49 win over Northampton as the Zephyrs rallied from a 28-0 deficit.

Sophia Bedics, Bethlehem Catholic volleyball

Had 15 kills and 22 digs as Bethlehem Catholic, the top-ranked team in the state, defeated Allentown Central Catholic 3-1. The team is 11-0 on the season.

Each week, СŷƵ sports staff will nominate three male and three female senior athletes from СŷƵ area schools based on an outstanding performance or other noteworthy accomplishment.

You are invited to vote for these nominees. One male and one female will be named Athlete of the Week.

Voting starts Monday and runs each week from 5 p.m. ET on Mondays to 9 a.m. ET on Thursdays, with the winners announced Thursday evening.

Athlete of the Week winners will be eligible for a $500 scholarship to be awarded by СŷƵ Orthopedic Institute. In addition to the weekly scholarships, one male and one female Athlete of the Week winner will be awarded with a $10,000 scholarship at the end of the school year. View the official rules.
