Police are looking for a 19-year-old Wilson man who they say assaulted his brother with a hammer and later fired shots at a moving car in the same neighborhood.
Borough police said Sunday they have obtained a warrant for Frandy M. Almanzar, who allegedly fired multiple gunshots around 4:30 p.m. Saturday at a moving vehicle in the 2000 block of Ferry Street.
Several rounds fired by Almanzar hit a parked vehicle and at least two occupied homes in the area, police said. They said several residents, including small children, were walking or riding bicycles in the neighborhood at the time of the shooting.
Police said about two hours before the gunfire, Almanzar attacked his brother, whom they did not identify, in the same neighborhood with a hammer. The brother suffered nonfatal injuries. Police tried to take Almanzar into custody but he ran away.
He is charged with aggravated assault in the alleged hammer attack. In the alleged shootings, he is charged with four counts of aggravated assault; 15 counts of recklessly endangerment; three counts of discharging a weapon into occupied buildings; and a single count of possessing an instrument of crime.
Anyone with information on Almanzar is asked to contact the Northampton County 911 Center at 610-759-2200.
Police from Easton and Palmer Township assisted with the response after the shooting.
