Nurses at СŷƵ Reilly Children’s Hospital, part of Jefferson Health, organized a costume contest for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit for Halloween.
Some parents brought in costumes and others were donated or created by the nurses.
Halloween comes just before World Prematurity Day, Nov. 17, which raises awareness of the challenges premature babies and their families face as well as celebrates the lives of babies born prematurely. An estimated 15 million babies, or 1 in 10, are born prematurely worldwide every year.
