Susan Miers Smith
Susan Miers Smith became regional digital editor for the MediaNews Group PA cluster on July 29, 2024. She had been a digital content producer for the Reading Eagle since 2017 and MediaNews Group since 2019. She started as a freelancer for the Reading Eagle covering municipal and school board meetings in 1990 while attending Albright College. She has served as a general assignment reporter and page designer in the editorial department and spent 12 years in the marketing & promotions department where she was a columnist for the HOME & Real Estate section, copy editor, web editor, page designer, special sections editor and editor of the weekly home & real estate and automotive sections. Susan started the Thoughts on Paws blog in 2005, combining her love of pets and animal advocacy for more than a decade. In 2008, she returned to the newsroom with the special sections, real estate and automotive sections in tow. In 2017, she unhitched from special sections and began focusing on creating digital content. In her spare time, she likes to dabble in nature photography.
