A motorist died Monday in a rollover crash off a Route 33 ramp in Palmer Township, police said.

Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson Trooper Nathan Branosky said the accident happened around 10:45 a.m. along the highway’s northbound lanes near the Tatamy interchange.

The unidentified driver left the road for an unknown reason, and the vehicle overturned near the highway’s off-ramp at the Tatamy exit, Branosky said. Police shut down the ramp heading to Tatamy for an unspecified time, he said, but traffic was able to be diverted toward Main Street heading west toward Nazareth.

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek could not be reached for comment Monday afternoon.

Besides the coroner’s office, state police at Belfast and the Troop M forensic services unit are investigating.
