A folk-rock band and a country music star are the latest headliners to be announced for Musikfest 2025, the festival announced Monday.
The Avett Brothers will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, followed by Darius Rucker a day later at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Wind Creek Steel Stage.
The acts are the second and third headliners announced for next year’s festival in Bethlehem. Last month, country music star Riley Green was announced to open the main stage on the festival’s opening night.
Both acts announced Monday are no stranger to Musikfest. The Avett Brothers previously headlined in 2014 and 2016. Rucker headlined sold-out shows in 2013 and 2015, and then returned in 2021 for a show that was originally scheduled for 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.
The Avett Brothers are four-time Grammy Award nominees and considered one of the top acts in Americana music, which blends elements of country, bluegrass, rock and roll, and other music genres with American roots. Their 2009 album, “I and Love and You,” brought them mainstream success.
Rucker came to fame in the 1990s as the lead singer for Hootie & the Blowfish before embarking on a solo career in 2008. Since then he has had four No. 1 albums on the Billboard Country chart, including RIAA Platinum-certified “Learn to Live” and “True Believers.”
He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2012 and has won three solo Grammy Awards, including most recently in 2014 when he won Best Solo Country Performance for “Wagon Wheel.” He has 10 No. 1 country radio singles, topping the charts most recently in 2021 for “Beers And Sunshine.”
Tickets for both shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday for ArtsQuest members, and 10 a.m. Friday for the general public. Prices range from $49 to $119.
The 42nd edition of Musikfest runs from Aug. 1-10.
