A building that has housed a supermarket and a press operation in Easton’s South Side has been sold for $1.36 million.

SVN Imperial Realty announced Monday that the 15,088-square-foot building at 717 W. Berwick St. was purchased by BAPU Easton LLC from 717 W Berwick St LLC.

“The new owners will be repurposing the building for a commercial use that will be compatible with this Southside Easton neighborhood,” SVN Imperial said.

According to Pennsylvania Department of State records, BAPU Easton is owned by Dipit Patel.

In 2022, developer Lou Pektor proposed putting a four-story apartment building on the property.

The structure was built in 1976 and was originally a Food Lane supermarket that was operated by the now-defunct Laneco chain.

Harmony Press took over the building in 1991 and operated there until recently.

Lisa Meszler, an agent with Rudy Amelio Real Estate, represented the buyer. Amy Hawley and Michael Ciccone Jr. with SVN Imperial represented the seller.
