Two Allentown men have been charged with the attempted murder of another man in a shooting early Wednesday, authorities said Thursday.
Christopher J. Colon and John Brace, both 32, were charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, according to a joint news release from Allentown police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office. Colon was also charged with aggravated assault and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, authorities said.
Authorities said an investigation found both men were involved in a shooting that left a man with multiple injuries around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of North Jordan Street. The man was rushed to a local hospital, while city-owned cameras recorded a fleeing vehicle at several locations in the city.
Police captured both men about 35 minutes after the shooting, according to authorities, with investigators recovering a spent shotgun shell inside the vehicle. In addition, authorities said, a shotgun was recovered from a street drain grate along the course the vehicle traveled from the time of the shooting to being stopped by officers.
Colon and Brace were arraigned Wednesday night before District Judge Todd Heffelfinger and sent to Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
