UPDATED:

Just under a year after opening, the Lehigh Valley’s first Wawa drive-thru has closed.

The drive-thru, at 6216 Hamilton Blvd. in Lower Macungie Township, closed Sunday, according to a sign on the building.

It opened in February as the second drive-thru location in Pennsylvania for Wawa. The first, in Falls Township, Bucks County, closed in October.

Lori Bruce, senior manager for media relations at Wawa, said, “Wawa is constantly testing new concepts to meet the needs of our customers. While our drive-thru location in Lower Macungie has closed due to a business decision, we still have one active drive-thru location in Largo, [Florida,] where we continue to test and learn. All associates from the Lower Macungie drive thru store were offered employment at close by Wawa locations.”
