Authorities have released the identity of a Lower Macungie Township man who died Sunday after he was hit by a tractor-trailer on Route 309 in Lehigh County.
David Andrew Mayers, 35, was pronounced dead around 4:30 a.m. at the scene in the 300 block of South Third Street, which carries the Route 309 designation, in Coopersburg, according to a news release from Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
Mayers was hit by the tractor-trailer about an hour earlier, the release states. Buglio said Mayers’ cause of death was blunt-force injuries from a vehicle accident, with the manner accidental.
Coopersburg police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
